We are seeking a qualified candidate to fill an opening for a Customer Solutions Manager. This position is full-time and reports directly to the President.
The Manufacturing Customer Solutions Manager will orchestrate seamless communication between our manufacturing operations, engineering team, and our valued customers. As a key liaison, this role plays a critical part in ensuring efficient processing, scheduling, and fulfillment of customer orders while upholding the highest standards of customer satisfaction.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Customer Interaction: Engage with customer portals, maintain regular communication to understand needs, address concerns, and provide updates on order status. Interact with logistics brokers.
- Forecasting and Planning: Collaborate closely with the operations manager and engineering team to forecast customer and monthly shipments, strategize purchasing of materials (i.e. steel), and ensure timely order fulfillment within the ERP system.
- Quoting and Order Processing: Participate in the quoting process for new and repeat jobs, ensuring accuracy and alignment with customer requirements. Oversee order processing and job quantity variances within our ERP system.
- Supply Chain Coordination: Actively contribute to supply chain management. Coordinate vendor/subcontractor materials and resources to meet production demands while maintaining optimal inventory levels.
- Issue Resolution and Financial Communication: Communicate effectively with and assist the finance department with any financial discrepancies or inquiries with customer accounts.
- Team Supervision: Provide guidance and supervision to the customer service team, consisting of two direct reports, ensuring a high level of service delivery and fostering a collaborative environment.
Skills/Abilities:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Proven experience in a similar role within a manufacturing or production environment, demonstrating strong customer service and operational coordination skills.
- Experience with shipping documentation including Bills of Lading, Packing Lists, Commercial Invoices, etc. a plus
- Proficiency in ERP systems (Oracle NetSuite a plus) and strong technical aptitude for understanding manufacturing processes and materials.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office products.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with a keen attention to detail.
- Ability to deal with high level executives at the customer/vendor level.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize tasks effectively, and thrive in a fast-paced, small team environment.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times
- Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization’s facilities including the manufacturing plant floor
