U.S. Axle, Inc., a manufacturer of precision axles, shafts and cylinders for Industrial OEM’s, is seeking to fill an opening for an Induction Machine Operator to work on 1st shift. The primary function of this position is to set up and operate induction machines to case harden parts, recognizing various specifications required and making adjustments to produce quality work with a minimum of supervision.
Position duties will include but not be limited to:
- Move work from work station to work station
- Read & interpret prints, sketches and job routings
- Make machine adjustments for machine operation and control
- Set up and operate tools and machines as required
- Inspect work produced for quality requirements
- Mix required quenching media
- Record work processed on job routing, process control documents & timecard
- Perform daily preventative maintenance on machines as required
- Maintain a clean and orderly work station and equipment
- Comply with all safety regulations and shop rules
Qualified candidate should have mechanical ability, be able to read measuring tools and be familiar with using a computer, cut off saw, tempering ovens, micrometers, miscellaneous craftsman’s tools, measuring instruments, hoists, forklifts, and reading prints. Materials used will include various grades of steel, ferrous and non-ferrous metals, quench coolants, rust inhibitors and oils.
Experience in a union manufacturing environment is a plus.

This position will be on 1st shift (6am-2pm). Payrate is $24.14/hr. Full time (40 hours per week).
