Rate = $24.14
Shift = 2nd (2pm-10pm)
The primary function of this position is to set up, program, and operate to finish any material to specifications as reflected in prints or sketches by the use of abrasive wheels while working to close tolerances and producing quality work with minimal supervision.
The work procedure will include:
- Receiving a work schedule from the Shop Supervisor and moving work from a previous location to the work station;
- Reading and interpreting blueprints and route cards as to operations to be performed;
- Changing mounted wheels and mounting/balancing wheels on hubs;
- Using standard precision measuring instruments;
- Setting up, programming, and operating tools and machines as required;
- Making machine adjustments for machine operation size and finish control;
- Checking all work produced on grinders for quality requirements;
- Performing daily preventative maintenance on machines as required;
- Moving material from work station to temporary storage or next work station;
- Recording work processed on a job ticket and time ticket;
- Oiling machine as required and refilling coolant tank;
- Maintaining a clean and orderly workstation and equipment;
- Complying with all safety regulations and shop rules.
